GIGI’S
GiGi’s is the hottest bowling alley for young adults! They’re known for their fun, vibrant atmosphere and pink shoelaces. At GiGi’s, you’re there to party and get a few pins down, but you’re there for so much more than that! The question is: what does GiGi’s mean to you?
PROCESS!
It all started many moons ago, when I told a guy the reason I got into design was to make bowling animations. Was that true? No. But I do follow through. The first thing I do when I start on anything, I think about the outfits. At GiGi’s, people are wearing corduroy, big shirts with small skirts, and everyone has some chain stitch embroidery detail. But most importantly, PINK SHOELACES! With that in mind, I set out to make the hottest bowling animations there ever was! The gutter ball was someone holding up a sign saying “gone fishing.” A split was going to be a banana split. An alternate ending for a gutter ball was someone looking into the sky and stars spelling out, “L.” With these fabulous ideas, during crit I kept getting the same question, “who is GiGi?” Who is GiGi? Well GiGi’s is a lot of things! So I pivoted my project to answer the biggest question which turned out to be the thing playing on the empty lanes’ screens. Spoiler alert: GiGi means “Good Game!”
