ALAMEDA FLAME F.C.
I branded, constructed patterns and sewn a modular kit for a fictional women’s professional soccer team. This is to show what the future of women’s uniforms could look like.
Growing up with a sister who played in defense up to the semi professional level, I have seen many uniforms over the years. Typically uniforms are designed for offensive players, so these uniforms tend to be smaller and more form fitting as the muscles for these positions are long and lean to be faster. For defense, the goal is to not get knocked over, so many times they stronger lower body. Seeing my sister’s uniforms through the years never accommodate for a larger lower build, I focused my thesis on how to represent both parties. The result is a modular uniform with the addition of compressions shorts for more coverage.
